Hello, my name is Tom and I’m a writer!
I was born in 1996 in Luxembourg and grew up learning multiple languages. As of today I speak five fluently (Luxembourgish, German, French, English & Italian) while having a basic understanding of Spanish & Bosnian-Croatian-Serbian. My love for languages & cultures led to me starting to write at the age of 16.
I started writing in German as it was the language I felt most comfortable with at the time. My first published book was a poetry collection titled Mondscheinsonette (Sonnets of the Moon) in 2016. I continued publishing books in German, glaswand (wall of glass) in 2017 and my first novel Charons Barke (The Skiff of Charon) in 2018 while starting to experiment with poems and short stories in French & English.
Public reading in Wasserbillig, Luxembourg in January of 2019
In June of 2019 I went on a pilgrimage from Porto to Santiago de Compostela together with a friend of mine and in September I published my first book written completely in English about this journey titled ¡Ultreya! We’ll be fine! Two friends on their Camino to Santiago.
I am currently studying to become a state-certified translator at the School for Translation and Interpretation in Cologne, Germany.
